Day 2 : Kunming City Tour / Qiongzhu Temple - Stone Forest Morning visit Qiongzhu Temple, which also called Bamboo Temble, and then drive and immerse yourself in the Stone Forest which covers an area of 400 sq. km. (98,842 ac.) in Lunan and is really the marvelous spectacle of nature. Consisting of six scenic spots like Greater Stone Forest, Lesser Stone Forest, Naigu Stone Forest, Qifeng Cave, Zhiyun Cave, Long Lake and Dadieshui Waterfall, the Stone Forest now is praised as one of the four most famous natural scenarios in China. In the afternoon drive back to Kunming and visit the Golden Temple which is a famous Taoism temple. The highlight buildings of this temple are a serious of Heavenly Gates, which are highly decorated with painted pillars and carved beams and rafters. As the bonus of the trip today, choose to enjoy the grand dance musical Dynamic Yunnan in the evening. In the evening boarding the train from Kunming to Dali . Stay overnight on the train. Day 3 : Dali / visit Three Pagodas Temple and Dali Ancient town Arrival Dali in the morning, your local guide will meet you at airport and transfer you to the hotel. After a short rest you will have the cruise tour on Erhai Lake, which is a famous plateau lake in Dali with an altitude of 1972 meters. Due to less pollution, the water is very blue and peaceful that it is long been known as Pearl at the Plateau. Afternoon visit the Three Pagoda Temple, which is regarded as the cultural symbol of Dali Ancient town and is a typical architecture style of Tang Dynasty, afterwards stroll around at Dali old town. Day 4 : Dali / Shaxi via Xizhou - Zhoucheng Morning drive to Xizhou County, which is an old and traditional Bai minority county. Here you will join in the local morning Market, appreciate Bai-style traditional architectural courtyards, taste their fragrant Three-Course Tea and enjoy the dance show of Bai minority. Then continue to Zhoucheng to visit the traditional hand-made Tie Dyeing in one of the local people's house. Afternoon head to Shaxi ancient town which is culturally diverse town to Bai and Yi minority people, the dramatic mountains landscape and beautiful weather combined with Shaxi's unique history and culture, make for a complete and enjoyable experience. Day 5 : Lijiang old town one day sightseeing / Black Dragon Pool - Dongba Museum - Lijiang Ancient Town After breakfast at hotel, visit Shibao Mountain which is only about 12km from Shaxi. The impressive rock carvings of Shibao Mountain are over 1300 years old and are testimony of the spread of Mahayana Buddhism in the region. Afterwards drive about 2 hours to Lijiang, one of the most famous ancient town in China. Upon arrival, you will visit the Square Street of the Lijiang Old Town which is in the center of the town. Four streets stretch out in four directions and stores are standing one by one. You will find various kinds of goods or snacks on the street. Stay overnight at Lijiang.
Day 6 : Lijiang Sightseeing Tour / Jade Dragon Snow Mountain - Baisha Village This morning, drive to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which provides a magnificent backdrop to the peaceful ancient town of Lijiang. Ride a cable car up to a high grassland meadow, where you can witness the 13 peaks lively in distance. As you descend the mountain, Every step will reveal a breathtaking view. Then visit one of the three most famous ancient town in Lijiang, Baisha Village. This town was the first settlement of Naxi people as well as the economic and political center of Lijiang for centuries. During your stay in this ancient village, visit a local Naxi family to learn about their traditional culture that still in practice today. After, see the most precious treasure of this village, Baisha Murals, Blending the styles of Han, Tibet and Naxi. These murals reflect that Buddhism, Taoism and Tibetan Buddhism have coexisted harmoniously in this village for hundreds of years. The last stop is the Black Dragon Pool. Also known as the Jade Spring Park, this place is famous for the endless bubbling clear spring waters. Day 7 : Drive to Shangri-la / Stone Drum Town - First Bend of the Yangtze River - Tiger Leaping Gorge - White Water Terraces (Baishui Tableland) After breakfast, drive about 5 hours from Lijiang to Shangri-la, the fairyland in northwest of Yunnan province. Stop at the Stone Drum Town where you will see the First Bend of the Yangtze River. Have a spectacular view while seeing the Yangtze River forms a sudden V-shaped bend here. After, come to the Tiger Leaping Gorge, which is one of the deepest and most beautiful gorges in China. The water current is very fast here as the river is surrounded by high peaks, steep cliffs and jagged rocks. Your last attraction today is White Water Terraces (Baishui Tableland). The variegated landform of the tableland is a continual deposition of calcium carbonate that is contained in the spring water. Then continue driving to Shangri-la. Upon arrival, get settle into a local hotel. The rest of the day is left free for you to explore this ancient Tibetan town on your own. Stay overnight at Shangri-La.
Day 8 : Shangri-la Day Tour / Ganden Sumtseling Monastery - Pudacuo National Park - Shangri-la Tibetan Ancient Town Start today by heading to the Ganden Sumtseling Monastery, the largest Buddhist monastery in Yunnan province. This monastery is also reputed as the Small Potala Palace since it was built based on the layout and appearance of the Potala Palace in Lhasa. It preserves a serious of gorgeous buildings and countless Tibetan Buddhist treasures. Next, drive to the Pudacuo National Park, where you will see two spectacular takes, Bitahai Lake and Shudu Lake. Fed by small streams from the snow mountains encircled, Bitahai Lake resembles a trumpet shell. Appreciate the beauty of nature while see the azure water with snow mountains and threes reflecting in it. Next with a visit to the Shudu Lake, which is famous for the lush plants and various wild animals.Yunnan Pudacuo National Park. After enjoying the beautiful natural scenery of these two lakes, you will visit a local Tibetan family to get involved into the Tibetan people's lifestyle. Then return to the Shangri-la Tibetan Ancient Town. Climb up to the top of Guishan Hill, to see the largest Prayer Wheel of the world and have a panoramic view of this ancient town. Day 9 : Departure from Shangri-la Today your guide and drive will pick you up from the hotel and drive to the airport for your flight to Kunming, here you can take the connecting flight back home. End of the trip.
