Why Recommend It
Yunnan Province is located in Yunnan and Guizhou High Plateau, because of its special geographical location, the great altitude difference and complex topography. It contains a variety of climatic types from tropical to cold zone, as well as the corresponding vegetation conditions. The rich and colorful habitate conditions not only enable to all kinds of birds and provide a suitable environmental condition, but also breed the bird species diversity. From the late Ocotober to the next year March, Yunnan Province is the paradise to different kinds of local and migrant birds.

Arrive at Kunming by train (Bullet train) or by flight. Meet & pick up by your guide and driver. Transfer to Hotel.
D2. Kunming/Stone Forest (B/L) |
After breakfast at hotel,drive (about 1.5hrs/78km) to visit Stone Forest–a notable set of limestone formations. The tall Rocks seem to emanate from the ground in the manner of stalagmites, with many looking like petrified trees thereby creating the illusion of a forest made of stone. In the afternoon, drive back to Kunming city and visit the Green Lake Park.
D3. Kunming/Dali by Bullet Train (2 hours) (B/L) |
In the morning, visit Kunming Golden Temple, is the largest copper temple in China. It got its name because of the golden palace here made of brass and when it is in the sun, it will shine brightly. Then take a bullet train to Dali and transfer to the local bird and flower market before transfer to your hotel.

In the Morning, visit the three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple, which are cream-colored, delicate-looking pagodas. They are situated in the shape of a triangle. The tallest and oldest of the three was built during the reign of a king of the Nanzhao Kingdom about 1,150 years ago. Now the pagodas are the symbol of Dali. In the afternoon, drive to visit Erhaiyue Wetland Park which is one of the wetland parks of Erhai Lake, you could find some water birds and local birds in it.

Drive to visit Xizhou Morning Market and the Xizhou Old Town (you could take a cart to visit for 40 Minutes). After that, drive to Lijiang. After arrival, visit the Old Town of Lijiang and the Black Dragon Pond which is a famous pond in the scenic Jade Spring Park located at the foot of Elephant Hill, a short walk north of the Old Town of Lijiang. It was built in 1737 during the Qing Dynasty and offers a spectacular view on the region's tallest mountain, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, over its white marble bridge.

Hiking tour to Wenhai Lake (Clients could ride a horse during the hiking): it is rarely visited. The small Naxi villages locates in this area are reminiscent of a China from many years ago and is a perfect way of seeing a more rural China. The unique climate and soil in the area nourished a variety of vegetative covers and plant species, including old-growth forests, shrubs and meadows.

Early this morning, your guide will also take you to one of the most spectacular sites of Yunnan province, the mighty Tiger Leaping Gorge (81KM/1.5H). Known to be one of the deepest canyons of the world, with a depth of approximately 3800mt, the gorge is located 60km north of Lijiang. After lunch, drive 3.5 H (172km) to Tacheng and check in your hotel.

In the morning, get up early and transfer to Samage Golden Monkey National Park for Watching the Wild birds living in the woods. Then go to watching the Snub-nose Golden Monkeys (the best time for watching the golden monkey is 08:00am to 10:00am). Then goes back to you hotel for lunch. After that, hiking through the lisu village nearby your hotel, where you have a chance to taste the Wild honey.

In the morning, drive back to Shangrila, after arrival drive another 40 minutes to the Little Shangrila for the Tibentan Villages, yaks and wild birds. After that,drive back to visit Shangri-la Old Town with the Turtle Park. Once a key stopping point on the Tea-Horse Road, and known as ‘the moonlight city’ for its white-painted dwellings that seem to radiate a silver glow by night. This lotus-shaped town has preserved the traditional Tibetan way of life for a thousand years.

In the morning, drive to visit Pudacuo national Park, it incorporates the Bita Lake Nature Reserve and the Duhu Scenic Area in the Hongshan region. The region of this park contains more than 20 percent of the country’s plant species, about one-third of its mammal and bird species and almost 100 endangered species, though it comprises only 0.7 percent of China's land area. It is notably home to vulnerable Black-necked cranes, many rare and beautiful orchids, and Himalayan Yew, a coniferous tree whose extracts are a source of the anticancer drug, paclitaxel.
D11. Shangrila (B/L) |
In the morning, visit the fascinating Sumstenling Monastery. Meet a monk (Living Buddha), you could ask the Buddha questions about life or Buddhism. He will chanting the Buddhism scriptures for you and wishes you all the best (For one hour). Then visit a local Tibetan family, enjoy the yak milk cheese and pastry.
